Roadmap receives €4 million funding boost to further develop business travel app

Business travel app Roadmap has secured €4 million in funding to further develop its platform and boost sales.

The Netherlands-based company offers a white-label mobile travel platform for “large enterprises” which integrates corporate travel suppliers into a single app.

Newion Investments, a specialist in funding B2B enterprise software companies, has led the latest round of funding in Roadmap.

Jeroen van Velzen, Roadmap’s CEO, says:

“The annual aggregated travel spend of the customers on the platform exceeds US $3 billion and the adoption and engagement numbers of the app are twice the industry average.”

Roadmap, which was founded in 2015, plans to use the latest injection of cash to further develop the platform as well as increase sales and marketing efforts.

The platform is connected with major global travel management companies (TMCs) and other travel industry suppliers, and is described as being like a “Swiss army knife” for corporate travel.

Roadmap is branded under the client’s name and includes real time travel information, as well as corporate content and reviews from other travellers.

Patrick Polak, founder and managing partner of Newion, says:

“The gap between consumer technology at hand – like Booking.com, Skyscanner, Tripadvisor, Google Maps – and corporate travel technology available is gigantic and ready to be disrupted.

“The Roadmap team grabbed an opportunity to become the preferred partner for Fortune 500 companies and is acknowledged as a thought and product leader in travel experience technology. Newion is impressed with the top tier customer base and astounded by the positive customers reviews of Roadmap.”
