Redeam raises $7.7 million funding to further tours automation push

Redeam, which helps tours and attractions distributors automate the ticket process, has raised $7.7 million in Series A funding.
The round was led by Vertical Venture Partners, with participation from Thayer Ventures, JetBlue Technology Ventures, Tallwave Capital and Peninsula Ventures.
Other high profile executives that participated in the round include Uber COO and former Orbitz CEO Barney Harford and Rob Torres, managing director at Google Travel.
Redeam says the funds will go towards expanding the team as well with teh aim of getting more third parties such as tourist sites, attractions and museums signed up.
It also plans to expand its product offerings and its sales and business-development efforts. A statement it also wants to establish Redeam as the “leading technology solutions company for the tours and activities industry.”
Redeam’s in-house developed enables attractions and third party distributors mobile or tablet-based system scans and validates any voucher from a reseller and then issues a ticket. It creates a faster and improved experience for consumers as well as removing fraud and other issues for suppliers.
