KLM partners with GetYourGuide for mobile booking of tours and activities

KLM has announced a new partnership with GetYourGuide to offer tours and activities to customers via the carrier’s channels.

Tours can be booked at short notice using Messenger, the KLM app, KLM.com, and even through a dedicated in-flight IFE portal onboard as well as on in-flight wifi on KLM flights.

KLM customers will have access to more than 30,000 tours and activities at more than 2,500 destinations around the globe and will be able to make reservations in any time frame from the day they book their flight or in less than 24 hours notice at the destination.

The GetYourGuide service offers paperless ticket, using a QR code scan for admission.

Travelers will also get push notifications of booked tour and activities times to their mobile devices to keep them on schedule.

Pieter Groeneveld, senior vice president of digital at Air France KLM says of the ancillary product:

“By offering GetYourGuide tours and activities alongside other supplementary products, such as cars and hotels, we make it possible for our customers to arrange their entire journey through the KLM platform of their choice..

There’s something to suit everyone in a digitally savvy way that matches KLM’s own innovative touchpoints.”

Tao Tao, COO of GetYourGuide adds:

“In making our global inventory of tours and attractions accessible to travelers around the world, we look for partners with a finger on the customer’s pulse and an eye on the future. KLM is an undisputed leader in the airline industry in its commitment to digital innovation and we are excited to transform our customers’ trips into amazing experiences together.”

Last week Trip Republic announced a tie-up with Germania for the airline to offer tours via a white label platform.
