Tuesday 13 June 2017:

TravelCar expands to US

• The airport parking and car-share provider will open an office in Los Angeles to concide with launching its first US destination in the city, with 20 hires expected by the end of 2017. The brand already operates in 30 countries and 200 locations.

Thursday 8 June 2017:

TravelBird CEO switch

• Steven Klooster becomes the boss of the online travel company, taking over from co-founder Symen Jansma who will remain as an advisor and director. The new CEO was previously chief financial officer at the company from 2014 after joining from Lyst. He has a venture capital background from stints at Warburg Pinkus and SG.

Wednesday 7 June 2017:

Travelport hires China chief

• Ming Foong becomes managing director for the Greater China Region at the travel tech giant, based in Hong Kong. He was most recently director for the online travel agencies for Asia-Pacific and business development in North Asia and Japan. Foong has also worked at eBay, MSN and Bing.

BookingTek takes MICROS exec

• The hotel booking software provider has hired Jenny Kurdle as its new senior vice president for the US. She was previously executive VP for US and Canada at MICROS and will now be based at BookingTek’s Washington DC office.

Friday 2 June 2017:

Sabre lands in Turkish capital

• Ankara will house a new office for Sabre as it looks to establish a training centre for agencies in the region and support its Travel Network Business. Sabre has already launched a new of apps for its Red Marketplace that specifically target the Turkish marketplace, such as Troya and Arkman.

Thursday 1 June 2017:

Concur expands to South Korea

• The expense and travel management service will join parent company SAP’s team in Seoul. Barry Long will become vice president of global sales in Asia-Pacific for Concur, whilst Jaesung Kim is head of sales for Concur in Korea.

Sabre promotes for c-level role

• Rachel Gonzalez becomes executive vice president and chief administrative officer at the tech giant, having been promoted from a previous position of EVP and general counsel. EVP and chief human resources officer William Robinson is leaving in September this year.
