Hotelchamp books another €2.25 million

Amsterdam-based direct booking specialist Hotelchamp has raised €2.25 million from new and existing investors, bringing its total raised so far to €4 million.

The business, which was founded in 2015, has more 1,000 major hotels as clients, giving it a presence in more than 40 countries.

It describes itself as a sales and marketing platform whose smart technology service enhances the relationship between guests and hotels to drive an increase in direct bookings.

Customers include Meininger Hotel Group, Palazzo Versace, Apex Hotels and StayOkay Hotels.

Hotelchamp raised €1.75 million just over a year ago from its founders, at-the-time unnamed angel investors and Investion Venture Capital.

Today’s announcement names some of the individuals , including Wetransfer co-founder and entrepreneur Nalden and Phillippe de Knijff and Jolanda Degen of WorldTicketCenter, a Dutch online travel agent.

The funds will be used to develop its artificial-intelligence based technology which aims to offer guests a more personalized booking experience.
