Concur opens up app centre to UK business travellers

Concur, the travel and expense system provider, has launched its App Centre in the UK.

The App Centre was originally launched in the US back in 2013 as a means to open up the SAP-owned company’s “ecosystem” to third parties and hopefully, provide a better experience to travellers through access to additional services.

The service will also provide booking and spend information, as well as help fulfill duty of care obligations for travel managers and financial teams within companies.

Travellers will have access to services including airport lounge information, eReceipts and travel tips by linking their Concur account with the available apps.

The UK App Centre includes about 70 partners apps including Uber for Business, Rocketrip, Marriott International and Oversight.

According to Concur MD of UK Enterprise Chris Baker, the App Centre demonstrates the company’s commitment to providing business travellers a “connected trip.”

Many will also remember Concur’s $150 million Perfect Trip fund launched in 2011 with investments made in a string of startups and businesses including Evature, Yapta, Room 77 as well as its acquisition of TripIt and ConTgo.
